feature film – in production
Morten is a 15-year-old boy who lives with his uncle Urmas and a one-eyed cat named Nurru in a crumbling farmhouse in an abandoned forest village. Morten’s mother works in Finland to save money for their future home, and the boy has never heard anything about his father. Morten tries his best to hide the reality of his life from his classmates, because all he wants is to be just an ordinary boy. But that’s hard, since he doesn’t have much money or self-confidence—only an old camera he inherited from his grandfather. The photos he takes give him the feeling that at least he’s good at something, because the idea that someone might truly love him or want to be his friend is something he can’t even imagine.
But one day, there are suddenly two people who do. Emilie, the girl to whom Morten dares to open up for the first time in his life, and who looks forward to meeting him more than anything. And Miia—a girl who shouldn’t be interested in someone like Morten at all, but somehow still is. In the end, Morten must choose between the two girls. And even though one of them has been dead for the past hundred years, the choice is still a difficult one.
