Film Marko Mäetammest käsitleb kaasaegse kunsti tervendavat toimet nii kunstniku kui publiku vaimule. Film sukeldub Mäetamme maailma, kaemaks, mida rahva teenimine kunstnikuna endast kujutab ning vaatleb tundliku ja julge looja rolli elu ja elamise sügavas tunnetamises ning ühiskonna mõttemustrite mõjutamises.

Film küsib, milline on kaasaegse kunstniku roll. Kas me oskame kunstniku poolt pakutavat vastu võtta ja sellest kasu saada? Kas oskame kaasaegsetena oma kunstnike keelt? Kellega kõneleb kunstnik? Kus on meie ühiskonna ühispildil kunstniku koht?

The film Marko Mäetammest deals with the healing effect of contemporary art on both the artist and the audienceto the spirit. The film dives into the world of Mäetammi, into what it means to serve the people as an artist and examines the role of a sensitive and courageous creator in the deep understanding of life and living and the thought patterns of society in influencing.

The film asks what is the role of the contemporary artist. Can we accept what the artist offers and benefit from it? As contemporaries, do we know the language of our artists? Who is the artist talking to? Where is the artist’s place in the collective image of society?
